NIN sales figures, updated
If anyone had any doubts about the success of Nine Inch Nails with their recent Ghosts I-IV release, look no further than a short Wired report on the matter. 1.6 million USD in sales revenue in the first week! Despite, as Wired points out, the fact that the whole album was seeded on torrent sites by the band themselves.
I suspect “despite” is the wrong word – that should be “because of“, or at the very least “aided by”.
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has also announced an online film festival and competition, an exciting chance for fans to participate by remixing and visualising the music.
Lawrence Lessig should take this news and run with it, it supports his read-write free culture perfectly. NIN sales figures, updated
