Seems more people than me agreed that Fret War in its current form wasn’t really worth the trouble. Creator Zed Shaw comments on the first round:

Round 1 was nerdy and random and had source code. Everybody hated it.

Round 2 is much more, shall we say, musical. Check it out. I might actually try to submit something now. open Fret War, now with 50% less randomness
