Good web week
Wow, what a week for web developers! Mockingbird is out, a very cool looking mockup/wireframe tool built on Cappucino, the “did they really do that?” Javascript framework bringing Objective-C to the web.
Google Closure Tools is out, gathering up Google’s years of web app experience from GMail, Google Calendar and Google Docs. Neat looking set of tools, including a compiler of sorts (“javascript to better javascript”), looking forward to playing with it. For now, I’ve only tried out Page Speed, their variant of Yahoo!’s YSlow Firebug extension that helps you optimise your site for client-side performance. Google hasn’t polished the look of their extension quite to the level of YSlow but it does perform more tests than the Yahoo! extension.

And lastly, more features for the Safari Web Inspector. That thing is getting better and better, and while it still lags a bit on Firebug it’s a very comfortable tool to use once you get out of Firebug mode and in to Web Inspector mode.
